Computers Engineering Festival محاضرتي في مؤتمر هندسة الحاسبات و النظم

كنت عاوز أوصل للناس فائدة أنك تكون مهندس كمبيوتر، مش بس مبرمج أو مهندس نظم. مع مثال لموضوع محتاج أنك تكون فاهم كويس نظام التشغيل و البرمجة.  جربت أيضا أن العرض يبقي بالعربي و الأنجليزي، و أعتقد الناس عجبها ده، و أحب أسمع رأيكم برضه

I wanted to do something dead simple, make my KDE4 task manager show only the current desktop windows. I found out it a bit tricky, I kept trying right clicking the task bar to get its settings, only to end with “Panel Settings” which is the whole plasma panel settings menu, until I figured out the easiest way to do it:

1- Click on the “Cashew” icon of the plasma panel  ( check the screenshot )

2- Right click on the task bar, BINGO, here u find out the task bar settings menu

3- Check the “Only show tasks from the current desktop” check box. Voila

طول عمري و أنا باسمع عن الناس اللي “دماغوا ناشفة، زي الحديد” و عادي ما كونتش باشغل بالي، و طول عمري وأنا بأقابل النوعية دي من الناس ، اللي لازم يتكلم و انت تسمع ، و حقه انه يتضايق و انت تطبطب عليه و تاخد في نفسك ، و مش من حقك انك تضايق انت كمان ، و لازم تكبر دماغك و انت الكبير. لكن قريب حسيت اني عامل زي الماغنطيس للناس دي ، بالاقيهم حواليه في حياتي في كل مكان،في اصحابي و في عيلتي و في الشغل،  وبيبقوا ناس عزيزة عليا، و فيهم اللي بابقى عارف انه طيب من جوه جدا بس ده طبعه ، و لازم استحمله، لحد ما بقيت احس انه العيب فيا انا، اكيد انا الي لازم ابقى كدة كمان.. ما علينا ، مش حطول اكتر من كده ، سلام

Last Ramadan an angel arrived to this life, a real angel. One which knows no harms, no evil. One which has a heavenly look and a heavenly feel. She’s my niece and the moment I saw her I fell in love with her. It’s the first time to feel that kind of love, weird kind, one which comes from a place I didn’t know that existed in my heart. That angel’s name is “Malak” , which is the Arabic word for Angel. Late this month another angel arrived, he’s Ahmed, my cousin’s son. I’ll leave you with the picture, I present to you:

I’ll tell you about a problem, and if you have the true solution ….Well, I guess you won’t have a true one anyway, cause I almost tried them all.

I’m as most of you a normal Egyptian citizen, one who has a lot of dreams, one who’s very ambitious, and hope that one day I’ll achieve them. I’m a computer engineer, and I WAS thinking I’m a good computer engineer.

So, I should have a plan, right ? so my plan was “join a good computer faculty and learn as much as you can”, and here comes the tragedy. Read the rest of this entry »

Hearing the voice of the italian captain on the air plane rented by Egypt Air announcing our arrival to Cairo made me feel totally relieved, at last I’m home. It was a long trip to Saudi Arabia, starting from Ramadan/September 17th till October 1st, but it was one of a kind trip.
